The Mathminded Mission

 

The Mathminded programs and resources are designed with the entire village in mind.  As the African Proverb states, "It takes a village."  "The Math Playbook", student's activities book, and the associated webinars, workshops, and more are designed to empower parents, guardians, educators, and students to team up and help students win the game of math!  I’ve made it my mission to advocate for parents and students by empowering them to tap into their students' math minds. Everyone needs and most people can develop basic math skills and knowledge. Math is a universal language. The mathminded mission is to translate frustration into confidence, confusion into clarity, and shame into hope, so the effective comprehension of basic math concepts can turn stumbling blocks into building blocks throughout your students’ academic journey and daily life situations. Unfortunately, most parents do not know how to support their students in their math learning journey. They leave it in the hands of teachers and counselors. I’d love to set up this strategy session to share how we can set up a winning game plan for your family to put that power in your hands.

 

 

 

Teresa L. Batson

 

Also known as Ms. B to her students, Teresa has over 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring mathematics from pre-school concepts to graduate-level classwork specializing in teaching and tutoring Algebra 1 and Geometry. She truly enjoys helping students open up and expand their math minds.  Teresa earned a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with a Specialization in Computing from U.C.L.A. She also holds an M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning and is a certified and practicing interior designer. She currently resides in Southern California.
